Style Collective & Meeting Boss Babes

I can't believe it's almost been 4 years since I've moved to Pittsburgh! When I moved here after college it was definitely a challenge to meet friends outside of work and Jonathan's friend group. But, this past year I started to get involved in blogging groups and events around Pittsburgh to meet incredible women! I wanted reflect on my experience and let you guys know how I did it!

About a year ago I went to drinks with Jen from Chic and Cheap lifestyles and I was so excited to start meeting people who shared my same interest in fashion and blogging! I remember we talked about Style Collective and how I was a member. I had just joined and was still learning about the network, but I loved being able chat about it with another local blogger! I think shortly after drinks Jen signed up too!

Jen added me into the Style Collective Pittsburgh group chat and from there I attended one of my first events! Christina from Style by Christina who is a Regional Leader for SC, planned an event last December at Lex and Lynne for all of the local Pittsburgh members of SC. We started with introductions and meeting all of the bloggers there. It was cool to hear all the different reasons behind why they starting blogging. Some very similar to why I started! I also loved getting the opportunity to network with women that had similar interests and make some new friends!

Not only do you get to make new friendships through Style Collective, but I also love supporting local small businesses through it! One of our other events this summer was at Vintage Grace Boutique where we could shop and chat! The cool part about going to different SC events is that I usually meet at least a few new people I didn't know before, and then I will see them again at other blog events around the city! It's all about building those relationships which is what Style Collective was made to do.

I've made genuine connections through this group and it's only enhanced my experience as a blogger.  Now instead of just being virtual friends with bloggers, I've been able to meet real people in my city who do it too! The Style Collective site has so many other resources as well like a brand directory, media kit templates and so much more. I've used the brand directory to reach out to different businesses for collaborations! Last fall I was connected to The Royal Bee through the brand directory and I did a collaboration with them for Small Business Saturday! So not only have I made connections with bloggers but businesses as well.

Style Collective also has a yearly conference which I hope to attend one day! It's super easy to sign up for Style Collective - just click here! They have an annual subscription for $120 and it is well worth it!  If you are a blogger and looking to make more out of your experience I definitely recommend signing up! I can't wait to see what this next year brings for our local Pittsburgh Group!

American Coastal Apparel

I can't believe this weekend is already Labor Day weekend! As this summer comes to an end it makes me crave the sunshine even more. A couple weekends ago, I went to the lake by my parents house to style these preppy looks from American Coastal Apparel. I am a preppy girl at heart so I love a good navy and pink pairing!

American Coastal Apparel was created by college students who started this company in high school. Being married to someone who also followed their dreams by starting a small business, I always love supporting them! The best part about their company is they donate a portion of their sales to the Surfrider Foundation. The Surfrider Foundation is an organization that works to protect the oceans and beaches by cleaning up the shorelines. So it's definitely a win win to shop with them!

Here I've styled three different products of theirs: Original Sailboat Long Sleeve TeeOriginal Sailboat Crewneck, and a Nautical Logo Tee. Of course I had to pair them with some classic boat shoes, a windbreaker and jean shorts.

We're off to Florida tomorrow so I hope you guys have a fun labor day weekend!
Be sure to check out American Coastal Apparel on Instagram to see all their latest arrivals!

Thank you American Coastal Apparel for the opportunity to collaborate!

The House of Gentry

Can you guys believe that it's already August?! I mean seriously how is the summer going by this quickly? This past weekend I visited my little brother in DC, and I hadn't been there since my 8th grade trip. It was definitely so cool to revisit monuments and spend time with the fam. I am traveling a ton this month. I'm off to Ohio this weekend for a wedding! Taylor Swift comes to the burgh on Tuesday, and then next weekend I'm going to Waco with my Mom and sister to see Chip and Joanna's Magnolia Market. At the end of the month we're off to Florida for labor day weekend! Lots of trips means lots of packing and I love having a couple of staple items to take with me place to place.

I am a huge supporter of small businesses so I love sharing these boutiques on Tay & Co. The House of Gentry is an online bohemian clothing and accessories boutique. Tamie has so many unique items that are perfect for all your vacations the rest of the summer!

I styled a navy open back maxi dress and a mermaid graphic tee. Both perfect to pack for all my upcoming trips! The navy maxi dress will definitely be coming with me to the beach on labor day weekend! It's super flowy and has a halter top tie which is really flattering. It also features an open back detail that shows off that tan! I love how easy it is to throw on after a beach day, but still look put together for a nice dinner. You can get 15% off this dress with the code: TAYLOR15.

Graphic tees make up a large portion of my summertime wardrobe. I love grabbing a few new ones each season to pair with jeans or denim shorts! This mermaid graphic tee has the prettiest metallic lettering detail that reminds me of mermaid scales. Here I styled it with boyfriend jeans and slip ons which would be the perfect airport or road trip look. The best part is it's under $31 with my code: TAYLOR15. To finish off each outfit I wore these champagne tear drop earrings which also come in peach!

They just added tons of new arrivals to the site and be sure to follow The House of Gentry on Instagram to see when fall items start rolling in!

I hope you guys have a great rest of the week!

Thank you Create me Pretty for the photography. Also thank you The House of Gentry for the opportunity to collaborate.

I Crave Jewels

I hope you guys are having a relaxing weekend! Jonathan is out of town, so Remi and I have been having a girls weekend catching up on Southern Charm! I am almost done with season 4. Does anyone else watch that show?! I'm so obsessed and I LOVE Cameran's style. It makes me want to beeline down to Charleston just to run into them.

Speaking of Southern Charm, the women on the show wear the most fabulous statement jewels. That's why I was so excited to get in this Crystal Beaded Statement Necklace from I Crave Jewels! The rainbow beading is iridescent showing different colors in different light. I styled it a few different ways to show how to dress it up or down.

For my first look, I dressed it up with a one shoulder top, skinny jeans , a clutch and heels. The statement necklace adds that extra glam on top! I would wear this out to dinner or drinks with friends. It's also adjustable so you can make it shorter or longer depending on what look you're going for.

For my second look, I dressed it down with a sweater and ripped boyfriend jeans. The lilac in my sweater brings out different colors in the necklace! It also dresses it up a little!

Erin has so many amazing pieces that you have to check out and they are all 10% off this weekend!  Here are a few of my other favorite pieces:

Also make sure to follow them on Instagram to see all the latest arrivals!

Thank you Create me Pretty for the photography in the off the shoulder top. Also thank you I Crave Jewelry for the opportunity to collaborate.

Taco Tuesday

Happy Taco Tuesday friends! It never fails that Jonathan and I eat Mexican food on Tuesdays. Also, for those of you that live near a Mad Mex I saw they are serving Watermelon Margaritas for a limited time!

I live in graphic tees over the summertime because you can easily pair them with jeans or shorts. I  love to dress them up with wedges, a fun clutch, and colorful earrings like I did with this look! The Pop Style has so many cute graphic tees and sweatshirts for you to rock all summer long. Make sure to check out all the sassy sayings she has available! I also have this neon pink sweatshirt which I LOVE! It's so comfy and perfect for those cool summer nights.

Thank you The Pop Style for the opportunity to collaborate. All opinions are my own.
