Bridal Shower

My bridal shower was everything I would've ever wanted and more! My little sister Logan & Mom hosted it for me. It was held a beautiful building called the All Life Center in Delaware, OH. For my outfit I definitely wanted to incorporate white because I was the bride, but I wanted to wear something fun as well. When Jonathan & I went to Philly in February I picked up a colorful Lilly Pulitzer skirt that I ended up wearing with a white blouse & booties!

Before the shower began Jonathan sent over a beautiful arrangement of flowers with a card that said "Looking forward to June 18th". It was so thoughtful of him! As guests arrived there was a choice of champagne, mimosas or a cucumber watermelon lemonade vodka drink. They could also take a moment to write down date night ideas on little flowered sticks & sign their names on little "C" decorations.

Once everyone had arrived we started with a bridal shower game. The game was called How Well Do you know the Bride? Before the shower I had to answer a series of questions about myself. Things like my favorite food, movie, how many kids I wanted etc. It was fun to see what all my friends guessed for each one. After the game we ate a catered lunch of salad, fruit, quesadillas & sandwiches.

We finished out the shower with gift opening which is always fun! Literally I probably registered for the entire Kate Spade kitchen collection at Macy's! I couldn't help it though, it's all so cute!! My mom got us 2 sets of our china to eat our first meal on as a married couple which I though was sweet. Jonathan & I are truly blessed to have so many people that care about us! We received some pretty amazing gifts.

Finally for dessert my sister & mom got monogrammed "C" cookies made! LITERALLY they could be a pin on Pinterest, that is how perfect they were! Guests each took a set of seeds when they were leaving that said "Plant these seeds and when they bloom, remember the love shared today by the bride & groom."

I had so much fun at my shower & I'm so thankful to everyone that could come spend the day with me! Thank you again to Logan & my mom for hosting! Love & miss you both!!

Finally a Mrs.

We are finally married! It's crazy to say that after a little over two years of being engaged, we are finally husband and wife. So obviously leading up to the wedding there were so many events that I didn't have a chance to post about. We had our engagement dinner, my bridal shower, bachelorette party and then the BIG day! After the wedding we also spent our honeymoon in Antigua.

So I figured I will do some catching up with each event leading up to the wedding these next few weeks. Now that I finally have a chance to breath I really want to focus on creating more content! Starting with wedding adventures and of course sharing millions of photos.

Did anyone else feel a little relieved after they got married?! I literally feel like a huge weight is lifted off my shoulders and now I need a hobby! Get excited for all the details!

Engagement Picture Prep

For those of you that know me personally you know I am obsessed with taking pictures. I am and always will be that girl that stops a party to take a group photo. I take photos with each individual friend at the party. I also will shamelessly take "candids" for the gram. At least I admit it right?

Anyways I always knew engagement pictures would be the holy grail of my photo obsession. I've done countless Pinterest  research for poses, props and outfits. A few weekends ago Jonathan and I had our engagement photo shoot! I don't know if I went too all out but this is a list of things I did to prepare.

1. Nails- An obvious must for photos, plus you will have pictures of your ring close up.

2. Makeup Appointment- I wasn't sure if this was necessary but after thinking about it more definitely a must, I mean you have these pictures forever right?! I got my makeup done at Sephora and they did an amazing job!

3. Blowout- A must, hair has to be on point. I got mine blown out at my sister in law's salon Studio E! If you live in Pittsburgh definitely check it out!

4. Eyebrows- Also done @ Studio E!

5. Props- I made a few props for the shoot including my favorite quote from Sweet Home Alabama inspired by Pinterest.

6. Outfits- Obviously you want to coordinate with your Mr. so I decided to go for the preppy neutral fall look. We mixed in plaid, quilted vests, cowl neck sweaters & boots. A color pallet of tan, navy, brown and red!

Thank you so much Sarah for taking our photos!  Check out her website if you are looking for a professional photographer! I cannot wait to see how the rest of them turn out. Here is a preview of them so far:

Only 208 more days!

Bridesmaid & Maid of Honor Gifts

It's already less than 300 days until I get hitched! I was having such a hard time figuring out how I wanted to ask my Bridesmaids so I enlisted the help of my mom and sister.

In July they were in Richmond and found the cutest Bridesmaid favors. The boutique had two kinds: one that said "I promise a really cute dress if you say yes" and "I can't say I do without you! Will you be my Bridesmaid?" Each little sign had a black rectangle to personalize.

Since most of my Bridesmaid live in other states (literally...AZ, CA, OH, NY, WA) I knew these would be easy to mail. Plus it's something they can keep forever!

To make each one a little more personal I got some scrapbook paper that matched the burlap on the front. Michael's had a cute polka dot print that matched perfectly. I modge podged this sheet to the back of the wooden block. Then I cut a smaller white sheet (with gold shimmers of course) and wrote a note personal to each Bridesmaid. Once I finished all the notes I wrote out the corresponding name on the front with gold sharpie. To finish it off I tied a "Happily Ever After" ribbon around each one.

Overall I was really happy with how they turned out! I've never seen anyone do something like this before so I was excited to send them out. And even more excited when they all said yes! I did get to give a few in person and actually starting crying when my friend Ashly opened hers!

Since my little sis is the Maid of Honor I got her something a little different. A while back I bought the "Maid of Honor" pouch from Kate Spade. I knew Logan would love it plus I wanted to make her feel extra special for being MOH and my only sis. Since I was giving hers in person I wanted a cute bag to put it in as well, but I couldn't find one that fit the theme... so I made one! I just bought a plain pink gift bag from Target and added blue stickers to spell out "Maid of Honor." I absolutely LOVED how it turned out!

I tend to be very detail oriented so while wedding planning I've noticed I enjoy focusing on the small details. But to me even the smallest details matter!

Wedding Calligraphy

When it comes to wedding planning there are so many details to think about! On Instagram I came across Maghon from All She Wrote Notes. She is a calligrapher who runs her own small business and teaches classes on how to do calligraphy. I wish I lived closer to the Carolinas because I would love to take her class.

I love the look calligraphy has on envelopes. I want to start practicing to see if I could do it for our own invitations! It's a long shot but it would something fun to try right? I think every detail is important and it gives an extra touch of personalization.

If you are getting married or know anyone that is definitely check out her website and Etsy page!

Country Club Wedding

We picked a venue! Finally after a few weeks of searching we found a venue that we both fell in love with. Scioto Reserve Country Club is about 15 minutes away from where I grew up. Upon arrival guests will be greeted with a personalized wedding sign with our names on it.

Since we will be having our ceremony & reception in the same place I absolutely loved the outdoor space. The backdrop is a beautiful waterfall & it also overlooks the golf course. Although if it does rain (pray for me...) the indoor option is just as beautiful!

The bride & groom's rooms are to die for. The groom's room is equipped with a pool & poker table to keep the boys occupied while the girls get all dolled up. They also have my favorite & oh so fabulous chiavari chairs.

The venue also offers an in house DJ to choose from, along with various cake options. Obviously I love the monogram style!

I can't believe we are getting married next June. Stay tuned for updates!
